A step by step guide to building a 3-hook shore dab rig.

1: Begin with 54-inches of 60lb mono. Go for a semi supple type of line.

2: Tie on a Gemini Lead Link at one end using a 5-turn Grinner knot.

3: Slide on a rig crimp, a 3mm ovalised rig bead, a size 10 swivel, another rig bead and a crimp. Repeat this sequence to give you three full sets of crimps, beads and swivels. Leave these loose for now.

4: Complete the rig with a size 4 rolling swivel, again using a 5-turn Grinner knot.

5: The first hook trace swivel needs to be placed just one-inch above the Gemini lead link. The middle swivel should be positioned exactly 17-inches below the top swivel, and the top hook swivel crimped in place 1-inch below the top connector swivel.

6: The top hook trace needs to be the longest at 15-inches, the second hook trace measures 13-inches, and the bottom hook trace is the shortest at just 10-inches. Ideally, for the hook links, use 20lb Fluoro carbon for its slight stiffness, but clear mono is okay!

7. Finish by sliding on a single 5mm luminous bead on to each hook trace and end with a size 2 Kamasan B940 hook. Dabs are inquisitive and home in on the luminous bead.
