A step by step guide to building a shore pollack lure rig.

When using soft plastic, non-weighted, artificial eels and shads, the following rig is by far the best choice. It casts exceptionally well with the lead weight leading the lure. Plus it presents the lure with maximum freedom to work efficiently.

1. To the Fluorocarbon leader tie on a size 4 3-way Rolling Swivel by the end eye.

2. To the middle eye add a link, such as a 2/0 oval split ring or clip link, to take the lead weight.

3. To the remaining lower eye of the swivel tie on 36-inches of 15 to 20lb Fluorocarbon.

4. If attaching a lure not supplied with a hook, then tie on a size 1/0 to 3/0 Mustad uptide Viking hook and add the lure.
