So back on the beach again this morning. I fished midway between the point and the boats. The wind was more or less coming from the right along the beach at about 15mph.
I opted for a sinking line to aid my casting and cast out a sandeel pattern fly to a likely looking area of water. The tide was ebbing strongly and against the wind, creating small patches of bubbling/confused water.
My thinking being that any bait fish would be caught in the tide rips and the bass would be waiting to ambush them.
Well, long story short, I blanked.
And I managed to snap the tip off of the hook on 3 fly's.
Steep shingle banks behind you are a pain in the backside for casting!
Easier at low tide me thinks!
Anyway, my playground this morning.
