This last weekend led my chase to the other end of the UK..
Travelling up from Coventry , west mids .
I made the 400+ miles upto the west coast of Scotland to Craobh Haven..
A weekend on Mckie’s charters “ Size Matters”

I was told I needed 5kg of bait per day but I think I miss heard the Skippers words
As it was 5kg per bait per drop ?

We had a rotating system so everyone had a chance of catching a fish..
Everything about this trip was big
From big baits
To big weights
To big fish..
My first ever skate 182lbs

From there the day got better
After seeing more fish caught by the other fishermen on the boat
My chance came again
Another belting Female skate
206lbs

A total of 12 fish to the boat with a couple of spurdogs for one dedicated guy.. lol
Winding a 6lb lead up 450ft had its own challenges let alone not knowing if you had a tadpole on it or not ??
Day 2 started a bit slower with the wind blowing a Holley and swirls that made fishing a little testing at times..
My 3rd skate and another over the 100lbs mark

Biggest fish for the weekend was a whopping 219lb for one of the guys who had 2 over the 200lb mark..
I also felt for one of the guys who had never caught a 200lb fish but has come close on many occasions..
So I gave him my chance on the rod as I’d had my trip already..
Moments before we were packing up..
A double hook up happened 49041501-0514-49DE-9835-0F7B2B1371F0.jpeg

Guy in black had my rod and the double hook up produced 2 x 200lb plus fish..
Dreams come true for a few of us this weekend
Dreams and memories made on Size Matters to last a life time..

You'll have to be quick Cfish, Kev has got the boat for sale and is moving into commercial bass fishing this summer. It's a great boat
Probably do very well line caught bassing!!! Will he still do charters??? I don't know how a charter boat would ever pay there money back these days on a new build????
