Sussex Coast - Trawler Ban

I heard on the meridian news that bottom trawling has been banned along the Sussex coast to allow the kelp to recover. I wonder why it has taken so long for the ban to come in.

Probably couldn't do anything about it while we were in the EU and only just got round to it.Too many other things on the agenda what with Covid.
