Features on a beach - important or not?

watercraft and being able to read how the beach is, especially if fishing shallow beaches

a 4 indeep 20m gully is the equivalent to a fish super highway
pointless leaving your bait sat on the bank either side of it, may get the odd straggler, but the majority of fish will move through the depression with the tide, especially if it is noticable at low

whe theres a bit of sea on, n waves breaking, pays to look for black water ( ie flat spots) where the waves are not strating to break or curl over
shows a slightly deeper section of beach, even if they are not breaking, as you look along the beach, you will see where they start to lift, and the height of the lift, aim for areas of lower lift if you want deeper water, and chuck a decent bait into the other areas if you are activly seeking fish ( bass) in particular that are hunting along the break

i awas always told, for bass , stick it in between the 2nd and 3rd wave table, and for anything else, over the back of the 3rd

stood me well over the years
