Sorry Riffler not tried it out, got too much in the way ov x4 and x8 to use up first, may never get on to x12.

Like all braids, they differ in quality and usability, but I’d not return to lesser number of strands, unless it’s for rough ground or pollock fishing.
Diawa Morethan is sublime.

I have been using 12 strand shimano pit bull braid for two years now. The 8 strand was good but 12 strand i think is better.
Wouldn't bother buying 8 strand again as I'm more than happy with the 12.

I've one reel loaded with Suffix 131 that was a gift - it's eyewateringly expensive but it is superb stuff and comes close to handling like a good nylon. Most of my lure reels for salmon, pike etc and bass have J-Braid 8x or Kastking Mega 8 both of which are good value but a few steps down from the 131. Rough, snaggy ground or less need for outright distance and I'd use the PowerPro 4 strand I've had for years or buy cheap Agepoch, Spectrabraid etc. I like to carry spare spools and swap as and when needed.
