I keep threatening to go across to the shingle for a very early morning tide when they are in one summer but havnt managed it yet. From what I have heard there is a bit more chance of a little space.

I’ve had so many whiting turn turtle when returned……just dosnt sit comfortable with me now. If there was a chance of something decent I would take the chance. As it is I will probably sit on my hands until the Bass return.

I admit I’m getting old and soft as I will rarely fish my local beaches now in the winter as the likely haul is undersized whiting. Even though I am as careful as possible they just don’t go back well.

I used a heavy swivel years ago but it always seemed to kink the line. Nowadays I use a proper pulley job ( cannot remember which one) and no problem with a kinked line now as the line exits at 180 degrees…
