    Videos.

Topwater's comment is spot on. Some of them will be on Youtube. For example, ML's 'Hooked on Bass' is at Search for each title on Youtube to save a load of time and cost.

River flyfishing for trout, still water flyfishing for trout, lure in the sea, bait in the sea, carp off the top in summer with fly or bait. Probably other stuff too... I hope it's not a mortal sin, or I'm in some considerable trouble.

    ??

I found that despite the site being available, the forum disappeared for most of the day. On the plus side, I reckon I could now have a pretty good go at catching a red band fish.

    trawler fishing

Problem is that without proper regulation and enforcement the level of stock will decrease until it isn't worth targeting. Any recovery then makes it worthwhile again so the stock remains held at this pitifully low level.

South Coast Swanage Pier, social and gar fest!

Sure. They're great on the barbecue in the summer. Taste really good. Don't be put off by the coloured bones.

    Spooligan

Quite well thought out and a nice demo video but looks a bit fiddly putting all the bits and pieces into the little slots and holes. In real life on the beach in the dark I don't think it would work so well. I guess if you have a love of extreme tidiness it would appeal. I'm happier just...

    Daiwa Millionaire 7HTMAGST Multiplier

You got a good deal there. I have a couple of 525Mag2 reels and they've been very reliable. Also have a 515 that has a slightly narrower spool but otherwise very similar. Use mono and a tapered leader on mine and have been happy with them. I've seen a few comments that the latest versions of...

    Zziplex is back ?

Agreed. My ancient Zziplex Light Bass is a fantastically light and well-balanced rod. I wish I could describe just how good it is but I can't because it's indescribably good.

    Sea Angler Magazine.

Many libraries have an online system that lends magazines. Mine has PCPro, ComputerActive and Trout and Salmon, for example, but not Sea Angler. It used to, but it was dropped. Very useful facility for avoiding the inevitable build-up of back issues.

    North Cornwall.

Are studded boots any good on those rocks? I put some of the screw-in Supatrack studs in my wellingtons and they are great for rocks covered in a thin layer of weed. Not sure if they'd help on Cornish slate though.

+1 for W Bay Angling. Excellent shop.

    Lure rod

This is the specific one I have but you might prefer something a bit different. SG have quite a large range of lure rods in the SG2 range: medium game, light game, ultra light game, micro game, all in different lengths and casting weights. One of the things that appealed to me was that rods...

    Lure rod

Slightly shorter than 9' (8' 3") but I'm happy with the Savage Gear SG2 Light Game rated at 3-14 g. Wanted a cheap-ish lighter lure rod and found it good value for money. Paid about sixty quid at the end of 2021.

    South West Thursday night session

Nice report and great photos. Funny looking sole you have in your neck of the woods.
