No tackle shops in Falmouth ?

Could try lowen chai in st Austell or carbon downs garden centre just outside Truro. Bit of a wilderness down there unless anyone else local knows somewhere else. Not been down that way for a while.

    Sandeel Ban

Most of it a small vessel Seine netters specifically targeting Sandeel (and the amount of boats doing this are very small) the problem is the large numbers are getting smaller and the season for catching them in their prime is getting later and later so it clashes with the mackerel fishing...

    Review Maged saltiest

Got a pair of magged saltists and they are just the mutts to fish with use them up the channel all the time on my t900’s or match pros. In my mind worth every penny. Use my casting specials as a back up now and my fathoms for abbo eastwards but rough weather big seas the saltists come out. Can...

Used most baits but sandeel and squid or anchovy cocktails are my go to ray baits. Bluey a good bait and rays love it. Crab always scores down my way hounds wrasse bass especially around estuary mouth flounder plaice all take it. Find early season cod love it but later on worm baits(blacks) are...

    AFAW Match pro mk2

Mk1 match pros are a great bargain if you can get hold of a pair. Like I said before will cope with clean ground right through to the reefs and upper Bristol Channel and never let me down there’s only a couple of places I won’t but it’s mainly hussing and conger over real rough ground. Forgiving...

    AFAW Match pro mk2

Borrowed a pair to try out and loved using them casts a long way sit lovely in the tide and would use them everywhere bar really rough stuff. Lighter that the match pros i have and both will cast 6-7oz with a smooth action. Only reason I’ve not got a pair yet is I’ve had my match pros rebuilt...

    Up&Over or One-Hook Clipped Down?

Like others have said swap to a plain swivel for the snood length and double pat. If you want to keep using the clip try a breakaway knot protector nip the end off and push it down over the clip it will help but would go the swivel route. Lead wise it depends where I’m fishing I use a pyramid or...

    Up&Over or One-Hook Clipped Down?

Clean ground I use a bar at times especially if it’s a single hook rig and it casts well but my go to rig is my running up and over my hook length is usually heavy 80lb plus with a 5/0 circle or 5/0 pennel.
