I was only saying to Rockhopper on Saturday morning (when he let me speak) how we used to catch good whiting in the BC back 20-30 years ago. It wasn't unusual to catch 2lb+ fish, admittedly that was from a boat. But...

That brings back memories of my first double I caught, back in the 80's. That was on a flapper rig for whiting. It was 15lb 7oz and took a 1/0 with Mackerel on it. Or possibly had a whiting on it already.

Well!!! Another Hoppers trip out. Don't know why I bother. He always beats me. I even had to tell him, my hands were too cold to bait up. So after his second "tiny" Codling I packed up in a huff and stood to watch..... ? Once his head reduced in size I stormed off back to the car. Far enough...

Went out 30 minutes after low. One rod, Rockhoppers unwanted rag and hope of a Cod. I hold the rod so l can feel the rats drop onto the bait and it gives me chance to pull it away from them. Still managed 3!! ? and probably pulled it away from 4 or 5. Only fished for just...
SI, you really need Rockhopper or myself to give you some pointers on the photography. You need the fish to be covered in mud and loads more shadows.

I've got to agree with Rockhopper. I picked up one of Si-Fly's last week and was very impressed with how light it was. A nice looking rod at a great price.
