Hi Tat, My target this year is 10 double figure Rays from Chesil, I managed 5 last year and missed 4 months fishing due to 2 hernias caused by lugging too much gear along Chesil.
I had one of 10-7 in broad daylight at Chesil fishing for Cod, No fight what so ever , Nothing unusual there but I actually thought it was a Dogfish until I saw it
Only one Undulate and 5 Thornbacks, Most from just past the Bridging camp but did get one from the log bench area where I fished next to you. Fresh Mackerel the best bait but very few and far between this year.
Cheers Tat, I've a few decent Rays recently but old age has caught up with me and its back to the hospital for another Hernia Op. I had one in 2011 so I'm no stranger to this. The only difference is I'm paying for this one instead of waiting forever to get it done on the NHS.
I'm out of the game completely, I've given my self another hernia carrying half a ton of gear along the Chesil shingle, The Rays are safe from me for the next 4 months at least.
It does very little for me, Mud , Strong tides and short fishing sessions put me off the place too, Id rather go to Chesil but that's not happening as I use public transport to get there .
So I might be pushing my luck getting a train from Southampton to Weymouth then a taxi on to Chesil, I might just ask at the train station first, I don't want to get to Weymouth station and get sent back home
