I have one from the 70's and use it over sand when the tide is out around Lancing/Worthing area. I tend to get plenty of prawns & shrimps, not many sandeels about though. A few undersized place/dabs & weavers which are always returned.

used live ones, 3rd segment up from tail with a float and caught bass and bream. Also from a boat and drifted them down tide.

I have used live ones for fishing, caught as well.

Welcome I used to have a Lawrance fish finder on my boat. None are cheap so best go to a chandlers and hope they know what they are talking about.
