Aldeburgh 7/3/23

Fished Aldeburgh today between the car park and the first Martello tower. It’s my first time out for a few months I fished 3 hours up to high tide at 11 and 4 hours down, although the weather was great there seemed to be a lack of fish and very few bites. I tried all sorts of bait black and blow lug, mackerel squid at all different distances lost a couple of rigs. Caught just 3 small flatties and a couple of very small whiting a really enjoyable day but disappointed with the fishing.

That about sums up most of my sea fishing trips.
Although you did catch more fish than I usually do.

Nice to see a report from aldeburgh, not fished there for a few years now. My dad's favourite venue, but somewhere I just couldn't ever get on with, I always ended up getting snag after snag there.
Glad you managed to catch a few fish, beats sitting at home.
Did you loose the gear on the ebb or flood? I seem to remember I used to loose nearly all me gear on the flood tide but not so much on the ebb.

Lost one set on the flood and another on the ebb.
