Fished the neap flood from low to high and caught bugger all. My mate fished 20 meters away with same rigs and bait and caught 4 tiny bass , 1 x 40cm and 1 x 31/2 pounder. Beautiful day to be out, biggish surf and light breeze and a couple of hours of bright sunshine. A guy arrived 2 hours before high and told us he had a 3lb and a 5lb the previous day. Tried rag, razor, mackerel, squid and prawn. Recharged the batteries a treat and I also found an expensive lure in the pebbles.

It's a strange old game. It used to be nailed on for flatties at this time of year. although I'm talking over 30 year ago. Whereabouts on the beach were you?

Next to the slipway, opposite the road to Colby Gardens or 50 yards west of Amroth Castle. Flounder have been scarce over recent years although a few were caught at the Amroth Open recently, I'll try and find the results.

Used to get a few dab as well and late plaice although the plaice are a thing of the past. Thet disappeared after they rebuilt the sea wall and the beach collected a lot more sand

Apparently they had a couple of sole this year.

It was a great day there was a variety of fish caught including bass, flounder, mullet, sole, lsd (dog fish) and even a bull huss.
we had 56 anglers attend and 19 weighed in at the scales .
First of all we as a club would like to thank all those that attended and made the day work and we would like to thank Ian and his team at the temple bar inn for allowing us to use the venue again for booking in and weighing in , special thanks also goes to peter kraus who was there the whole day selling raffle tickets but also collecting and organising prizes before the day along with prizes brought by the anglers etc.
the results were as follows .....
1st prize (heaviest bag of flounder) was won by local angler and ospreys veteren andrew skeels (ike, skelo) ike had a bag of 5 flounder totalling 2.860kg
2nd prize (heaviest round fish) was won by another local angler from neyland club Lee Hellier he had a bull huss of 1.595kg
3rd prize (2nd heaviest bag of flounder) was also won by a local angler this time a T.D.A.C. member (tenby) Keith Williams he had 3 flounder totalling 1.510kg
The ladys prize this year went to kirsty Culley with a flounder and a sole recorded with a weight of 0.760kh well done kirsty also well done to the other ladys that entered it was a great turn out

The sole have been turning up everywhere this year. They seem to be one fish on the increase, in Wales at least
