Hell, I'm Rob and a newbie too this type of fishing, I've acquired a load of kit from a family member, but have no idea about it too much. If anyone could give me any information on this rod and reel setup it would be very welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Madhouse Searob.

Definitely a Boat rod & reel, as Mike said, a fairly heavy duty setup. No good for shore fishing, and a bit to heavy for the usual species of fish from around our shores. If you plan on boat fishing, it may be OK.

Looks like a very old dated shark or conga wreck fishing setup. Rod would be very heavy by today's standards and reel again big and heavy by today's standards with most using much smaller powerfull reels loaded with braid.

Big game fishing gear, sharks etc.. 🎣

Ian.
