I could only get out during daylight this week and had great weather for it, minimal wind and the sun was out.

Still hoping for a Ray! Had fresh mackerel and squid to see if I could tempt one in on a pulley pennel rig with 3/0 J & circle hooks.

First cast I had a dog fish, it took a while to get it unhooked so didn’t take a photo but it wasn’t anything special…. In fact it spewed up in my a few times so that was nice.

The next 5 hours went past! Fresh bait out every 25mins totally untouched as height tide approached the big tide was absolutely ripping around the point and I could hold bottom with 7oz gripper so I had to call it a day.

Spent a bit of time picking up all the fishing related rubbish strewn across the beach and practiced a bit of casting with the multiplier which was going really well untill “1 last cast just to give it some welly”. Most of you will know what happens after thinking those words

Daytime at this venue was pretty tough and chatting to @Chalton afterwards confirmed it. Still I hope you enjoy some nice scenic photos.

Your persistence will pay of but yes the Solent is hard going in daylight.

Fished there weds much the same daytime tide, same fishing results but good to be out.
see you picked up rubbish as well I picked 7 starlights up within a few yards of each other plus other crap, seems some people still can't take their rubbish home.
