Shore
New moon
Big tide
Windy all day (not me! the weather)

Fished 2 bagnal bar rigs with 3/0 hooks to try and stop the ting fest I had last time on small hooks!

Bait was sand eels, black lug and squid in various combinations.

First couple of cast produced the inevitable whiting!

Then it was quiet for an hour or so with nothing but wind burn and retreating with the shelter up the beach.

2hours before high tide I had a big rattle on the rod I thought I’d missed it but I was very happy to wind in a nice winter bass at 2.7lbs.

I spend the rest of the session imagining a few more of those rattles but as usual it was just a dream but it kept me warm and excited for the rest of the night.

I fished until high tide at 2300 with a few more whiting.

All in all very pleased I managed to get a session in before chrimbo.

Merry Christmas everyone hope you have a good ‘in.

P.s I’m sat in the van writing this killing some time because I’m picking the mrs up from a party at midnight… there’s quite a lot of car activity here so late at night I’m wondering if it’s a dogging spot….?
