How long does mono last in storage?

Have found some 300m type spools of line that have been buried in shed that I forgot about. Prob been there 7or 8 years, but been stored in dark cool condition - in bags etc. I assume still ok? 15lb and 60lb

Will be fine as long as they haven't been exposed to daylight.

I've used mono that's 10 years old & it's been fine i do keep my line in the dark tho.

I am still using Maxima 20lb from my carp days in 2005.

I change my line every 6 months or so,it depends on how much fishing I've done.

I can just beat that Flappy. I started a Saturday job in a tackle shop way back in 1978 but unfortunately the shop closed down in 1980. I was asked to help clear the shop stock out onto a van and as part of my payment I was given several boxes of Bayer Perlon, some of which I am still using now, especially the lighter strengths for coarse fishing hook lengths.

One thing to take into account is that sheds can get very hot and similarly cold at times. I'm sure that can have an effect on the long-term storage/degradation. Test it
