With a few reasonable tides I needed to test the water!
Pumped some worms Monday evening, thinking 150 should cover the few trips I had planned.
Tuesday morning fished 3hrs up to HW and 2hrs down at Pevensey Bay.
2 rods, 1 fishing whole squid the other a 3 hook pompey rig.
Dogs to the squid and a couple of dabs and some reasonable keeper whiting to the lug.
Weds night just west of the point Dungeness.
What happened?? The whiting on a diet?!
These fish are now a third of the size I was catching the day before!
Reverted to livebait rig on 1 rod and whole squid on the other.
A couple of dogs, a large pout and whiting bait.
Friday night, Eastbourne beach.
Put a 3 hook flapper out, 5 mins and had bait.
1 rod used pennelled whiting dead-baits in the gutter and the other a pennel with half pilchard baits.
A couple of half hearted enquiries on the deadbaits probably whiting and a couple of better whiting and dogs on the pilchard.
I’ve had my fix now for a few days!! And I had 100 worms left for the freezer!

Not a bad effort mate, at least you caught. 🎣 🎣

Ian.

It always amazes me how the size of the whiting differ even on fishing marks that are reasonably close to each other! Good to get out and catch fish either way !

Nice report Mushty. 11/10 for effort. 🎣🎣👍👍

Yeah I know, it was the next day, fish instantly became half size!
The only real difference was night and day.
