Squid Jig

Had a wierd thing happen a few nights ago i was fishing for Squid and caught a pollok, has anyone else had this the quid jig does not really have any hooks

I've a had pollack grab the squid managed to land both,but never had a fish grab the squid jig

I caught a mackerel earlier in the year. Had the whole thing in its mouth. They regularly hit them but must be quite rare to catch.

One of my main ambitions this year is to catch squid on a lure.

I was still catching them at the Orestone in early January. There were some decent sized squid around, with the biggest going probably 2lb ish

The last ones in Torbay were towards the end of December. They seemed to leave when large numbers of whiting and sardines turned up. Also the water clarity has been hit or miss due to the winds. There were some nice sized ones in December with bodies 30-35cm but not sure what they would weigh.
