What Fish will be around

Well I learnt something just by reading posts on here and that is the Bass will be going out to deeper waters and unlikely to be available to us Shore Anglers over the next 4 or 5 months

So what fish can I expect to dangle for in particular off of a southern Shingle and Sand Beach until the Bass return please.

Pretty much anything, bass will be caught all year round just reduced numbers. Most other species will hang around just not in the numbers duri g summer. Whiting will become a pain….

Thornbacks are a good cold water fish round Kent way when the bass are scarce and the smoothounds gone . Give a good bend in the rod and can turn up most of the winter at times .

Aldwick Bay - Sussex - Today fishing 2 hours before HT at 1400h. to one hour after 4 dogs and 3 bass nothing spectacular but great weather.

You get good numbers of bass from chesil is February, mostly fish from 1lb to 5lb, these are mainly fish too young to spawn. Cogden in particular fishes well after a good churn up. The thing to watch is water temperatures, the lower it goes the more likely the bass to move offshore, if it doesn't drop much below 10 degrees there will be bass there all year around.

My advice is use fresh bait,if you are using 2 rods put a biggish bait one rod & a smallish bait on the other mate, looking forward to your catch reports
