    Crimps or stop knots?

    Another vote for neoprene tubing. I tend to use two stops underneath the bottom bead, and one above the top bead, with a swivel between the two beads.

    You got the rods correct. Close on the reels, but they’re Shimano Aerlex 10000 XTB. Not sure the budget would stretch to a pair of Ultegras!! I am in Bristol so not too far away. I hadn’t fished the mark too much either to be honest. I had done a few sessions over high and blanked every time...

    Advice Rig body?

    Hi Thrasher I am currently using Berkley Big Game like you suggest, and I would recommend it. I got a big spool from VMO. I have also got a spool of 80lb ultima powerflex which I am using as shockleader. I am a big fan of that too. Matt

    South West Clevedon

    Managed to get out for a couple of hours down to low water, and an hour back up in Clevedon this morning. I caught a couple of small codling on frozen blacks and ragworm. I had plenty of bites but got the feeling there was a lot of small stuff about. The wait for a decent sized cod goes on!
