South West Hunt for New Grounds

Good spot that DJD.....should still be some bass around and hopefully a unicorn soon(y)(y)(y) That tide run around the point is impressive on a spring. You should also have a look at the north side, by that I mean the knuckles, middlehope and the MOD especially Cheers Musky

    North Cornwall.

I'm down to Porthilly for a couple of weeks in he first half of November. Luckily I can fish the estuary if its rough, or Daymer /Greenaway if not too bad. I've had good days at lundy bay too ... but it is exposed ....

    Fishing at low tide?

Just to say...particularly on the Bristol channel LW (note: no guarantees) can be so much better, because of the tidal range all fish retreat to the deeper channels that may be reachable over LW. Once the flood is under way same number of fish spread out over thousands of acres. As has been...

    South West Reckon its bassy?

Biggly squid or mackerel fillet/joey into dark...I used to fish Barafundle bay (stackpole quay, not too far away) into dark for some lovely bass, amongst other things but freelined bait into dark is a fab way to fish, and you'll be surprised how close in good fish will come, enjoy!!

    South West Reckon its bassy?

Just my view but fresh peeler for bass, fresh or frozen for codling. Looking at that ground I'd be happy with peeler and lug..... even a whole squid for the larger fish(y) Musky PS and although I tried I never caught a tope....... having been a Clive Gammon disciple in the late 70's

    Quick question

If I was fishing Bristol channel for rays I'm happy with 35 - 40 mins but I'd wrap a fish fillet (mackerel/bluey) in squid ...in the hope the scent trail lasts a little longer. If walking back then a much larger bait and up to an hour. Musky

    South West Aust

I was there yesterday Bud, and I spoke to a guy who fished on Sunday and mentioned that someone had a couple of keepers just to the right of the slipway.... must've been your dad. That then fished a bit further to the right but had nothing. Have a chat to Century, they've always been very good...
