Ive used bait capsules with bomber and loop type rigs quite successesfully to catch double shots of rays..
Theres a chap on FB making bait capsules for a good price.
The pier is open for anyone to fish from 10am, just go up onto the stem from the left hand side through the gate.
A day ticket is £9 someone will come along to take your money and isssue a ticket.

Im a fan of the breakaway adjustable crimps too, I use the tool they supply to crimp them down..
I also think they help with snags too as the crimps slide under pressure allowing the hook length to slide down the rig body..
I used to fish Sole bay at southwold a lot which was always pretty good and also the other side of the pier between the groynes. you can fish the pier but I never did.
Thropness and Dunwich are also excellent marks too
I must get back up that way again as its been a few years now..
