    Due to the size of the baits being used (pretty much whole fish) it does take longer for them to wash out than normal, but i think 3 baits in 12 hours may be optimistic. Due to the fact you need the scent trail for the skate to follow, we normally change the bait out every hour or so. Tackle...

    Cant speak for the jackets, but a lot of the boat fishermen on Loch Lomond swear by the trousers, apparently the best thing for sitting down in shit weather all day, nothing gets through them even water sandwiched between a boat seat and you back end.

    Apparently they come in as "shallow" as 30ft at night on the hunt, however i would rather stack the odds in my favour and fish deeper all day and night.

    That should be absolutely perfect, or at least i hope so, as i have a Kompressor SS on the way after trying my mates! Baits for me have been a "tailconed" makerel or bluey, elasticed to death to make them as streamlined as possible as tbh you arent casting that far, but every little helps...

    You need a beefy rod mate, one that can chuck 8oz and has a lot of rough ground backbone. Doesnt have to be expensive, Ron Thompson axellerator does the job well. For reels pref an 8000 size reel, daiwa BG, Penn battle type, although seen plenty of others used, slosh's, saltists, fin-nor multi's...

    This was my plan for the start of next year, in between two jobs in Feb, no doubt it will need to be later once lockdown etc are finished with. Infuriating when you actually have the time and ability to go but cant!
