Thanks mate I was just a bit unsure. It feels ok in its current position however I usually like 2 fingers about the stem and not one. Might have to experiment. Il try the current position first.

Hi all, Decided to try a breakaway casting canon with my fixed spool instead of my usual finger stall. Mainly because it’s either lost in my box, in the way or covered in bait. I’ve just fitted one but not sure if it’s in the correct position? Opinions? Thanks

Their authority Reels etc and I have used a slammer DX too. Both were excellent for their intended use.

Got to be honest I’ve never had any issues like that with the higher end penn reels. I don’t have much experience with the cheaper models though.

Shimano for smoothness, refinement and line lay. Penn for robustness and sealing from elements. That’s always been my view.

Yes they are the trabucco importer I believe. Bought a rod from them in the past. All was good.

Decided to buy an Akios air power mk2 black edition to try. Initial impressions are positive. I like the fact it feels more like a 3 piece beach rod as opposed to a light thin conti rod. Fit and finish seems good. Looking forward to try it. The tip feels really nice too, with much bigger rings...
