Hiya Rob,
I carry my rods either just strapped together in their bags or in a quiver style holdall.
The Daiwa Emblems are probably the best "general purpose" f/spool reel they do without spending big money but the Crosscast & Shorecast are by all accounts decent reels for the money.

Hiya Rob,
Another vote for the "new" Sandstorm here.
Bought myself a pair of the 14' 2" multiplier rods last Summer same as @Kine262.
Have to say for just over £300 for the pair i gobsmacked how good they are- decent rings & reel seat, easy to cast with a "proper" fishing tip & imho being...
Hiya Tw,
It was all taken in jest mate ???
Have to admit i put the nuisance fish bit in with tongue firmly in cheek ???
Mind you! You'll know as well as me, when we're talking about Wayne, any fish that's not a Cod or Bass is genuinely a nuisance fish to him.
Tight lines.
Rick?
Hiya Tw,
Yeah i know Wayne well mate, have'nt wet a line with him for a good while- mind you lockdown & the fact Wayne's chasing the Bass during the Summer whilst i'm targeting what he regards as nuisance fish does'nt help.
Tight lines.
Rick?
Hiya all,
After reports of the Huss, Hounds & Thornies showing a Friday night sesh with me & 3 of the usual suspects was sorted.
Despite the S/E breeze & flat calm sea we were still pretty confident & were on the pier for a little after low water armed with Bluey, Squid & a few crab.
I headed...
Hiya Steve,
A decent sesh there mate & another new species for you (that's 2 more Thornies than me this year, though hoping to get among em on the pier tomorrow night as i have'nt had chance to wet a line for weeks).
For the Smoothies crab (fresh or frozen) is king, though we pick quite a few up...
Hiya Kine,
I went for the coaster option. I bought the Breakaway nylon coasters as they're big enough to fit on the realseats hood (the bit the reel foot sits in), mine are permanently left on & the reelseat is still moveable.
Hope that makes sense.
Rick?
Hiya again Mr F,
Your 2nd report is much better mate???????.
If you're anything like me you'll find your mojo's not gone it's just been hibernating for the Winter & one decent fish is all it'll take to wake it up.
Tight lines.
Rick?
Hiya Steve,
Great catch report mate.
Sounds & looks like you're getting the hang of this sea fishing mallarkey- more catches than blanks, especially considering the fishing's only just getting going along our patch.
Re your fish pics & id's- pics 2 & 3 are both Flounders (when you catch a Plaice...
As a footnote- i should say i had umpteen beachcasters in my armoury at one time but now apart from a 7 piece travel beachcaster i've thinned it out to just 3 pairs.
A pair of 13' 6" Greys Syntras (bought new around 20yrs ago).
A pair of 16' Greys Triplexs.
&
The pair of Sandstorms.
Rick?
Hiya Will,
Oh well! At least we both already know how good the Sandstorms are.
Have to agree about JH mate, absolute respect for the bloke & he certainly "knows his onions".
Have too agree with a few of the lads as well- unless you've got the cash burning a hole in your pocket i'd stick with...
Hiya Kine,
As @bacon has already mentioned the Sandstorms as an example (around £150) & the fact that a £500 rod is'nt 3 times better i have to agree-
I was looking for a new pair of rods last Summer but being on a limited budget had a few options-buy 2nd hand, sell a couple of my rods to add to...
