A second blank...... but steps in the right direction

The return to Huttoft..... and the sequel to my first outing in 25yrs A few jobs and a trip to the peak district were holding things up but, I was keeping a keen eye on the weather and the tide times. I'm not really a people person, so it was important to time my return to avoid the worst of...

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

I've heard of it or been through it through work but couldn't tell you any more than that really

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

From the little I've read/heard, it seems the fishing is better down that way? Have a good trip anyway ?

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

Thankyou, I'd been wondering about that tripod - it didn't seem to want to open wider and I didn't want to force it, it must just be stiff Rods, iirc aren't the same obviously but the casting weights are (I'll double check) though the one with foam handle had a nicer action in my opinion.

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

You're right there fella, I'm just a bit excited about getting back out! Unfortunately for me, it looks like it'll be roughly a week on Thursday before the tides fall how I want them to. As a side note, can anyone recommend somewhere to look up tide times? Most only seem to do the next 5 days...

    Chum

T.a fishing got a big bottle of fish oil, pricked it and tied it down at low tide - he shew the oil slick from the cliff tops before he started fishing. Sounds expensive though Not chum as such but I guess you could do similar with a mesh bag of fishy stuff if you'll have time to retrieve the...

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

Thankyou all for the kind words and advice so far ? I haven't found much else to ask about so far, I'm sure there'll be plenty in due course though

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

Sorry Joe, I missed your reply; Yeah, was using grippers (5oz) and bait elastic, hook points showing too (but thankyou for saying, just in case I didn't know) Different baits next time I go too, if I can

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

I have a map... and I'm a lorry driver (for my sins). Sadly, there seems to be a shortage of signs and laybys to check the map but I didn't do too bad; only 5-10 mins more than Google said. Anyway, you're right about the big tide - I'm hoping to go back after the half term so I'll try to get...

Humber & East Coast Not a catch report...

I'm sure many of you saw the build-up to last night's outing but, to cut a long story short; I started coarse fishing at around 8 years old and a, few years later, dabbled a bit with sea fishing whenever I could persuade my poor dad to take me - only a handful of trips really and didn't catch a...

Cool, thankyou ? Still trying to keep an open mind, is Grimsby dock worth a look? Pretty sure I heard you can fish the shore side of it, was a while ago now though

Anyone know about the parking permits (overnight)? I've just applied so doubt it'll get through in time, do they bother with it? Just a note for anyone wanting to apply for one, it's valid until 19th June as, apparently, they're looking to start charging for them from then on...

If there's bass about, is it worth having a rubber sand eel or one of those little rubber lures with the floppy tail on as a second hook?

Loads of info! Thankyou Kris ? Sounds like it's not going to be a particularly easy trip, I'll give it a decent shot though. Doesn't have to be huttoft, is wolla bank worth a go? Or anywhere else that'd be a better bet? From immingham to huttoft they're all about the same distance for me (or...

That's ok mate, Thursday's looking about the best weather this week and, with the tide times, traffic etc, I'll probably end up there from around 7pm anyway (about an hour before high tide)

Thankyou goatfish, I'd come to the conclusion it could well be chowderness in that particular video As it happens, after lots of YouTube and reading, I'd been thinking lower in the tide might be best as it seems crabs are less of a problem? So, 2up and 2 or 3 down sounds like a good idea. I'm...

Just watched that one too, certainly looks less effort - I can't decide which side of the humber he was though, I'll get on Google maps Other bits and pieces I've seen online suggest skeggy fishes well but I'd rather not have too much of an audience Thanks again for all the help so far everyone ?
