The mark I wanted was infested with other anglers, they were fishing a match, so I set up as close as I could without interfering with the lad pegged on the end. I had a chat with them all before setting up to ensure I wouldn’t be encroaching, whilst I was in the general area, I missed one rattle and one drop back which on reflection was probably the lead tripping out as the tide started running.
The lad in the spot I set my heart on managed a plaice, so he should have placed (plaiced??) well in the match as I didn’t see much else coming out. It’s nice to know I had my location right, even if I couldn’t fish it on this occasion!
