Advice Century rucksack

I wouldn't pay stupid money for something you sling over your back. lidl did one last year for around £12 and it works just fine.

I agree it is a lot of money but was thinking if its as good as there rod holdalls and @15% off was it worth the gamble .

I never use a rucksack but had a google just to have a look at it. Seems to be a bit of price fixing going on, with most of them offered for just under £75, but Gerry's have got it in their Black Friday offers for £67.46.

I was going to say there are some threads about it on the Dark side, but noticed you'd replied, so you already knew about them.

Nice bits of kit their cool bag is top drawer if a bit pricey. Would buy one but I got my vass one and it’s still in cracking condition. My way of thinking is if you like it and you don’t mind paying a bit more is go for it.

Anything like there rod quiver and bait bag it will be mint bud 👍

This is what tempted me their gear is expensive but its top quality 👌
You got me thinking again now 🤔

Hi all . Anybody got or had one and would like to share there views on it .
I bought one more because I’m a bit of a tackle tart than because I needed it but I’m so glad I did. It’s the best rucksack I’ve ever had and I've had plenty over the years!
The moulded base keeps everything nice and dry but is also firm enough to keep the bag upright when full. The base moulding bows out at the front slightly which stops the bag tipping forward. (A problem I used to have with a Korum rucksack I used when barbel fishing.
The main compartment is big enough for everything I need and a flask standing up and the rigid construction means the volume of the main compartment isn't compromised by the sides or the front collapsing in. The front pocket is easily big enough for my fully loaded Ian Golds large rig wallet and the side pockets are wide as well as deep. On some rucksacks I've had in the past the side pockets have been so small that you can just about slide your hand in but not only are they much better with the Century ruck, the zips also go halfway down the pocket so when you open them you can clearly see inside and its not just some dark cave.
Talking of zips, they are super smooth and are all seamed (The bag material closes over the zip so it is not exposed when the zip is done up.) This is only a small thing but it makes the bag look better and is just another sign of the quality.

The straps are really comfortable and keep the bag on your shoulders rather than allowing it to slip and press into the small of your back and the top handle feels strong when used to lift the bag into the car, even when full of all my junk and weighing a ton!

I originally bought the rucksack when I was on holiday to use for my sea fishing gear but it is such a great bit of kit that when I got home I swapped all my river gear over into it. I did think I could swap it all back for the next time I go sea fishing but I like it so much that I will be buying a second one. I don't see it as that expensive really as I have paid a lot more that 75 quid for other specialist rucksacks that haven't been half as good.
It makes me smile when people will pay £500.00 for a rod but then hesitate over paying £75.00 for a bag that will keep all their other gear safe and make walking with it on your back easy and comfortable.

Buy one, you will love it!

I had one and it was bloody uncomfortable and the rubber covers on the zip pulls perished and fell to bits.

You’re better off with a proper rucksack as they are closer to your body, more comfortable and spread the weight better.

Cheers for your opinions everyone. Ive ordered one if i dont like it I'll send it back
Did you get it on BF mate ?. Will match the Century Holdall you had off of me nicely.. ;)

Got from veals at 15% off and free shipping. It arrived today looks like a quality bit of kit .same material as holdall.
will there be a review inc photos when it arrives ?
I'll do a review once I've used it a few times but after a quick look im impressed. Back and straps are well padded seems well built as you would excpect with anything bearing the century name .
