Not felt the love for bait gor a while but after 2 frustrating years lure fishing dragged my sorry rs out and went to the ol stomping ground , never normally dissapoints other than getting peed on by dogs.
Arrived at dead low expecting the first of the flood to kick off , 2 double takes in the first hour but only 5 ish pounders.
Dead for the next few hours so change of bait from herring to whole squid ?, maybe an early bass , nope , another double take , 1 gut hooked tho so that came home at 7.15oz.
Then slow, back to long range with herring , another double take and one that dropped off .
Add a trio of dogs and a solitary yting ended up a typical clacton day other than 4 of the rays were around 8lb .
Seemed like they wanted it dropped on their heads today , maybe the bigger tide?
Happy with that so toddled off at high
