South East Dabs

A tidal river is the best bet.

Hythes often paved with them around now

We get them on the Ouse, Arun, Adur in Sussex. Use river rag (maddies) or blow lug up to about 2 miles inland also the esteries.
Funny enough the only place I catch them is fowey estuary, very rare in the beaches I fish, weird! Even netting in a sandy bay we don't catch them, catch most of the other flatties but no dabs???

The January sprat dab. Hopefully a few better one's will turn up in the Thames this year. yum yum

I’m sure they are about around Hythe and dungy. I would target in the daytime to avoid the hoards of whiting.

I will have a go for them in January on the north Kent coast.

Good luck

I caught my PB (32cm) dab New Year’s Day at Whitstable a few years back ??

Caught some channel whiting up to 1.2lbs yesterday evening, all the smaller ones went back to annoy other fisher folks. Fish cakes for dinner tonight.
