Well, finally mustered up the enthusiasm for a session.
A few old pals from my rugby playing days wanted to see what it was all about, so picked a night when the weather seemed not too savage and the tide half decent.
A beautiful night to be honest, very light breeze over our shoulder, moonlight and stars aplenty.
Three of us fishing rag, mackerel and squid resulting in half a dozen small pout and one tiny plaice. Other than that dead as a doornail.
We had a laugh though, regaling tales of past misdeeds and generally taking the piss out of each other.
Shuffled home at about 2am tired but smiling.
Roll on spring.

Good effort Spidey! Shouldn’t be too long until those plaice become more numerous!

As I read your first few paragraphs I was wondering what sort of session it was that required a retired rugby team…

Thankfully it turned out to be a fishing trip!

Nice one Spidey! Often the Craic is as important as the fishing! (y)(y)
