Last week Darren and I decided to have a try for a sole at a local shallow low water mark.
This was after an unsuccessful attempt at galloways the previous weekend where we were attacked by killer whiting.

Well, we failed.
The whiting were there in their millions.
To prove a point, I waded 5 yds out in to 6 inches of water and held a baited rig by my feet.
2 minutes later and I had a triple shot of whiting!

We did however catch something very special, at under 10 yds range.

That's the first Kent unicorn for either of us since the 2016/17 season.

Yippee! Unicorn bashing! Well done Shirls & Darren! ????

Funny about the time scale.
Was told years ago that the fishing seemed to be in a 5-6 year time scale. So maybe a good sign

?? you’re hallucinating, go and have a lie down! ?

Seems to be a lot of the smaller ones around this year, let’s hope they can grow bigger.

Crazy you can handline for whiting though, lol.
Is there any size to them?

Skinny emaciated pin whiting.

You live baiting that for a proper whiting. Pin codling a good bait for em ? well done btw?

Nice report, shame target species wasnt had but well done getting out and catching (y)

Well done. Had a few chunky whiting at West Bay a couple of weeks ago. So there are some about.
