Well I set the alarm for 0530 and set off for the 5min drive to the beach. On arrival, the sea was a lot more rough than I expected, but I thought I’d give it a go. Both rods were rigged up with two hook clipped down rigs baited with lug and squid, with 5oz leads. As I was baiting up the 2nd rod, tucked away from the wind behind the sea wall, a huge wave broke and landed slap bang on top of me… several gallons of freezing water in my waders was not what I was looking for! Both rods were soon in the sea that was slightly wetter than I was! 5mins later, both rods were back on the beach again… 5oz wasn’t enough to hold bottom. I went up to 6oz which held for a few mins longer, but the heavy weed soon wiped both rods out. After 2hrs of fighting the conditions and shivering my teeth loose, I gave up and came home. As for fish? Blankety blank! 3B58E46B-4494-40A4-AE61-DD354C77A394.jpeg20114B1B-40D6-4CD8-8B3C-293C270C0716.jpeg7DFC4A4C-305E-477C-98AE-09B22236EB0B.jpeg5EC9ACA4-923D-4377-953C-30CA6B447C1A.jpeg

Shame about the blank and the drenching Ouchy but top marks for trying. Nice photos too! ????

Top marks for effort, nice pictures and I know I've gone to the beach thinking all will be OK only to find a bigger swell than expected. Also goes to show the unpredictability of the sea, you think you're sheltered by the groin and still get soaked. Good effort
