South East July showdown!

Afternoon all,

Been slow on reports of late - so here is a monthly round-up for July! We have had some very strange weather here in Kent, July started off cold, wet and windy, and now the last week has been incredible. Fishing for me has been better than ever compared to previous years by comparison in July which is usually very slow. Still plenty of weed on our North and East Kent coast, but if you want fish then you have to be in it to win it!

This month I have achieved:

x1 Thornback ray 8lb
x4 Smoouthounds to 7lb 5
x4 bass (30cm, 39cm, 56cm & last nights 64cm)
Do I need to mention the one dogfish?

Im now on hols for the next week so back on the beach in August

Some nice fish, well done, but theirs nothing wrong with catching doggy's. Some times they are better than watching a motionless rod .The other plus when catching doggy's theirs probably other fish in the area

It was a surprise July ray for me. I’m trying to catch one in every month of the year. Not sure exactly where you are but the fish baits usually do the damage ?

Thank you. The dogfish was so big I couldn’t handle it and a camera at the same time. You will just have to trust me on that one ?

Yes busy thanks. I think a lot of it has come down to trying new places and learning about what state of tides to go and fight the weed and what tides to stay at home! Always learning
