and went shore fishing for the first time in maybe 15 years or more with a fellow boaty friend of mine Mick. Roker from the river crouch where the target as they had been catching plenty of them up until recently. We'd been saying we must have a go for them for months now but left it until December before actually having a go. Too late maybe? A quick call to a friend confirmed that he'd been doing very well but had blanked a few days earlier.

Well despite our best efforts with 4 rods out with herring chunks only the whiting and crabs appeared to be hungry. So blankety blank on the ray front for the pair of us.

I was good to swing a beach caster again after so long and I was very pleased to finish the session was no birds nests or crack offs! The venue looks good with all sorts of shell and small stones attached to anemones coming back on the lead spikes. We will return next year.

Back out on the boat next time ...
