Its been a bit quiet over August for me getting any new species. That's not to say I have not had any fish and l have been enjoying my fishing, which is really what is important.

Bit of a round up.
31 July. Boscombe Pier, cause its easy and 30 mins away and free parking in the evening!

Bass, black bream, straps (lots!), smoothie pups, thornback ray (one for the hunt) and sole.
Pretty plaice.

3rd August. Boscombe Pier.
Bass, plaice, straps, small eye (one for the hunt) and early whiting. A guy caught a Huss, not heard of one from there before, nor have the locals or Haddock!
Picture. Tramp with a sole!

9th August. Southbourne beach with @Si-fly .
He had an amazing few days with loads of new species. Hats off to him.
I had loads of smoothie pups, and small bass. A couple of nice sole, double shotted with a bass or a pup. None of my targets, but a busy enough session.

11th August. Hurst Shingle Bank, as reported.
Beach art and bream for lunch.

Oh and back to the report title. We did get squiddly diddly.
One of the other members had a couple of squid so we, @cap'nhaddock (who on the quiet is doing well on his numbers!) and me chucked together a squid rig under a float, popped it out and it just blew in the wind out of the water. Added a tiny weight popped it back in, then immediately noticed a black ink cloud on the surface and Haddock brought in a squid.

The rod went to me, and I had two before passing back to Haddock for his second one. To be honest the rod was just fishing itself as squid fishing is pretty boring and you have next to zero contact with the lure. Not had one for a long time and they are amazing to look at.

Good luck if you are out people.
