Well my boys are with me for the holidays, and wifey, the boys and I decided to have a nice stroll along Hastings old town at Rockanore to stretch the dogs legs. As we nipped into RX fisheries, for some delicious cockles, mussels and lobster tails with chilli and garlic vinegar, we wandered through the beach launched fishing fleet to the waters edge. Well in the hour we had been gone, the wind picked up, the clouds piled up and the rain made an appearance, it was totally different to the morning! High water was at 1330, and we were fishing by 1300. CCAFF43A-79AE-4F9E-8C84-8FFC1981D9A2.jpegWe both fished 2 hook clipped down rigs baited with lug, and I whacked them all out there. Bite indication was a nightmare as it was now blowing a gale, in fact my boy found a nice comfortable bivvy to shelter in248640BE-76B5-41A9-8F8F-A284A4F7CB69.jpegotherwise known as the car, while I hunkered down by the sea wall. The bites started immediately, double shot of whiting cast after cast after cast. The boy and I stopped counting after 25 each, we ran out of worms and carried on fishing whiting strip which produced just as quickly. I managed a single dab and a rockling in the hordes of whiting and the boy finished off with a pout as it got dark. 4B697829-E2F2-41D7-B4E2-E2A25C48AF7A.jpegWe packed up at 1645 and called it a day, it was freezing, wild and windy, yet a great few hours were had, every cast produced, now have 12 whiting for tea, can’t complain!
