Well I've had a cracking day today after doing my homework yesterday and studying the beach it paid off. Lovely sea running and no wind bonusIMG20211227143131.jpg. Comp started at 10 am I got to where I needed to be at 9.50 and set up. I knew I couldn't cast into the hole / gully till about 11.30 as the tide was ebbing. I loaded up with yellows and bluey into it and waited.
11.35 I pulled a little tommy in about 10 inches longIMG20211227114144.jpg followed by another same size 1IMG20211227121055.jpg0 mins later. Then I had a flounder about 6 inches long wondering how the hell did it get a 6/0 cox and rawl hook in its mouth?
About 1pm I got a proper little cod bite which resulted in my first keeper of the comp 44cm at 1 lb 8ozIMG20211227132001.jpg followed by another 15 mins later at 37 cm never weighed itIMG20211227141753.jpg. Mates were phoning me from allover the beach saying they had got nothing. Then at 2.30 pm I chuck a big bait out I knew there had to be something in there. 5mins later my rod bent double banging like mad this was what I had came for wahoo. Playing the fish in with the under current and the wash I was panicking with every turn of the reel finally at my feet was a piggy. Rushed up the beach to my box and weighed it 6lb 6ozIMG20211227145126.jpg. So I had 3 fish to weigh in. Back at the club after the fish was weighed and the prize giving started I came second £300 the fish that won it was 3 oz more than mine.I also came 2nd in the heaviest bag £60 I also got a Akios egg whisk reel off the prize table which my mates son bought off me for £50 as I don't use them multiplier only for me. So £410 up and a cracking days fishing.
A pic of me at home with my little beast with fish crap all over my t-shirt IMG20211227175358.jpg?.
