On way home after a 14 day trip to Soroya with 2.5 days travelling and 11.5 days fishing. We did lose 1.5 days to bad weather ,so bad that the camp took the boats out of the water even though we were right at the end of the fjord. 2nd time visiting this camp and our main target was halibut. With 9 in the group we had 3 boats and on our boat the 3 of us we had 60 halibut to 152cm, c.100lb. Baits did well for us at the start if the trip with the other 2 boats using lures and struggling. As the tides built over the trip the lures started out fishing the baits with more current helping the action of the lures. We had a few wolffish, haddock and coalies but not in great numbers or sizes but only spent a bit of time trying for them. Lots of big 1lb + mackerel about. Provided some nice baits for plaice to 7.5lb and dabs to 2lb.
So a pretty decent trip with more knowledge stored away on where to target certain species. That will serve us well in 2023.
