Turbot or Brill? A turbot will allways flip over! You can also feel the raised tubercles on its back. Tried it with plaice and flounder and they did not flip over. Not had a brill yet this year, but will try it, if l do, to confirm. Heard about this trait recently and its true! I have had a couple of turbot so far this year. At the last count Haddock was up to six!

 
I tried it with a Brill, it just lay there, like an upside down Brill.

There must be a size limit at which they don't do that otherwise someone could get smack in the gob.
