Great report mate, that's a good hall of Dabs and Whiting.. 🎣

Ian.

Whiting tend not to do very well when returned, a lot don't even last till released.. :(

I admit I’m getting old and soft as I will rarely fish my local beaches now in the winter as the likely haul is undersized whiting. Even though I am as careful as possible they just don’t go back well.

The problem is we don't really know how any returned fish get on do we, yes we often see them swim off, but how many actually do stay alive.. :(

I have always been a catch and release angler.(y)

I’ve had so many whiting turn turtle when returned……just dosnt sit comfortable with me now. If there was a chance of something decent I would take the chance. As it is I will probably sit on my hands until the Bass return.

I keep threatening to go across to the shingle for a very early morning tide when they are in one summer but havnt managed it yet. From what I have heard there is a bit more chance of a little space.
That's where I'm lucky I go out on my boat to avoid the crowds.
