What kind of lure is this?

Yep, as Thrasher said, it's definitely a Squid Jig. The tentacles of the Squid get tangled in the 'grid' at the rear of the Jig, and the lead weight underneath aids casting and keeps the Jig upright in the water. 👍👍
 
I have 4 of these in my tackle (fishing) box, various colours and luminous. They also catch cuttlefish.
