What to target

Hi all.
As I've said previously, I'm slowly getting back into shore fishing after a long absence.
I'm down on the South coast ( Bournemouth) and am wondering what should be my target species fishing a sandy beach usually.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Im sure there be a few Whiting with your name on them down there.

flat fish, whiting, maybe a bass. Sole at night from spring through to autumn. Might be worth a try at Christchurch as well. Also Sandbanks and a trip to Swanage area.

Must admit I tend to find almost all the ray I catch on J hooks are lip hooked.
Think I’ve only had two or three deeper hooked in the whole of my fishing career.
And honestly couldn’t tell you how many ray I’ve caught.

Not slagging off circles though, always good to avoid gut hooking.
