I noted recently that TFGear don't sell sea fishing gear anymore, only carp stuff. :(

Is TFGear anything to do with Matt Hayes?

I think the reels were Akios with different coloured plates on
My TFG Multies (2mags and 2 level winds) black side plates appear to be the same as Akios, never had a problem with them. Also my 2-5oz 11ft bass rods are great as far as I am concerned.

I go fishing for relaxation and pleasure, so don't need mega expensive rods and reels. Just reliable and do what it says on the tin.
Different with wife :ROFLMAO:

I've had a bit of their kit for a while now- the force 8 competition tripod (feckin heavy but extends to a full 8ft & so far been rock solid).
A pair of tuff boots again so far so good & a couple of carpy type tackle bags & fishing holdalls & again so far so good.
Think @Beach has more or less hit the nail on the head as they sell/sold far more carp/coarse gear than sea fishing stuff anyway.
Rick?

I'm still looking forward to the easy life
Just save your pennies and have private pensions ready for retirement, worked for me (y)

I got a pair of there estuary rods iv had em 5 years now must admit there nice rods take off the label and you'd think they come from a higher stable, yes there that good, excellent for flounder and bass very very similar to conoflex bass rod

Nice to hear Mike, especially as someone who actually uses them. (y)

Like most brands they have a few cherries in their range. And a lot of prunes. I think the reels were Omoto just like Akios's Abu clones
Dunno all I know is they all work just good, always rinse and dry my gear then oil reels etc. I have reels that are over 40 years old and work like new.

Never had prunes with the fish I caught o_O

my mate has a force 8 bivvy it's done him proud stood upto to storms etc but it's a running joke amongst us that it looks like a helicopter, where he's lost the little top hat thing it comes with to cover the crazy looking quick erect system thing ...
probably makes no sense unless you seen one up close though lol but yeah it's still going strong 10 years old or summin and he lives in it for few days a week carpin
