After 10 years I return to the pike

Cheers for all the love boys. Makes a change to post a success story rather than my usual underwhelming north wales coast shore fishing reports 😂😂

After 10 years I return to the pike

Allthough most of my comments and threads land them selves in the sea fishing section today I have one for the fresh water boys! After many months of being badgered by my friend to join him on a pike outing and unfortunately declining due to work commitments I finally managed to get a free...

North Wales Light gear made the trip

It was time for my yearly week in north wales at my parents place on the coast, and the tackle was packed and ready! Due to holidaying with my wife and dog, convenience is a must… as dragging them both down rock faces and rough ground to marks isn’t really an option. So as always I found my self...

    Not a bad first weekend

To think that I came to north wales for my first outing with a somewhat less hopeful attitude was soon to change, This weekend I was accompanied by a carp/pike angling friend of mine from Stratford upon Avon who had never had the joy of drowning a bait in that salty pot of gold….. To set the...

    North Wales Let’s start 2022

Thank you gentleman, next weekend shall be my first outing, as for fresh baits, in the last 2 years fresh bait has been hard to come by! I usually pump my own bad and when I can! Hopefully we get a little sport! Tight lines gents! ?

    North Wales Let’s start 2022

Happy Friday gentleman! (And ladies). The time is fast approaching for me to dust of the rods and drown a bait or two! I started last year rather late and with very little success! This year I’m aiming to get down to the north wales coast in early march, but the question is….. what should I...

    Help

Welcome mate, I don’t know how much help it is but there was a mark I fished some years ago in a little village called Paull in hull, there is a section with railings where you can literally back your car up and fish into the Humber, now this is by no means the best mark in the world but you’ll...

    Braggnel bar rig

I would agree, they must make them with different breaking strains, I know sunset amnesia is used allot for rig making and leader, good line! So I’m guessing it would be a good choice just using a heavier line perhaps

    Braggnel bar rig

Correct wolf, you can buy them made with 30lb amnesia line, not something I’ll ever use a whole lot but the idea of it makes good sense for casting those big baits long old distances!

    Braggnel bar rig

It works just like that mate.

    Braggnel bar rig

I’ve not used one my self but I have read a few articles on them mate, from what I can gather they come in handy when casting long distances with large trace/hook lengths. Holds the bait firmly in place streamline to the lead for the best tangle free cast... guessing aimed at Tope, hound or ray...

Ending on a small high (North Wales)

Cheers gents, i had forgotten how fun it was to fish small and simple! Really had a blast stripping it back and targeting something different

Ending on a small high (North Wales)

Well well well! After giving up all hope my old boy arrived with mother to have the weekend with us before leaving for home tomorrow, so I thought why not have one more go! After all... mum spent a small fortune on beach gear that he had yet to get wet! Arriving at our easy access mark we were...
