I’ve been itching to go and wet a line for the last few weeks and so finally got the chance to go late Sunday afternoon. Bradwell was the chosen venue as I like the solitude and very few dog walkers to bother me.
I ordered the bait. Only ragworm available. Wanted to get some herring but the wet...
Went dab hunting at Bradwell but very few and far between. 7 had between us but mostly very small. Perhaps it was the big tide that put them off ☹. Fair bit of weed too. Still good to be out 😁👍🏼
Had a trip down to Bradwell near the power station. Fished the tide from 1pm up to high tide at just after 6. Good bites from the start on 2 hook flapper. Expected just to be whiting but ended up with 15 dabs and a smattering of whiting. A couple were in size.
Very enjoyable session not being...
Sounds like a busy session. Used to get lovely sized dabs at Dungie and lots of them.
The black weed is May rot which is really irritating and a real pain to get off. You have my sympathy. Should go in the next few weeks.
👍🏼😎
Took the opportunity to enjoy the sun down at St Osyths. In hope of a ray or even dare I think a stingray. Quarry not achieved but a busy session with the usual dogfish, good sized whiting and one basslet and a dab.
Good to be out.👍🏼😁😎
Well done Merlin. That is either real dedication or madness to go at those hours on your own. Lovely video, really informative and your setups look impressive.
However I don’t know what a cart/squid wrap is? It looks tasty like a giant prawn. 👍🏼😁😎
