South East Several whiting venues! Pevensey bay, Dungeness and Eastbourne

It always amazes me how the size of the whiting differ even on fishing marks that are reasonably close to each other! Good to get out and catch fish either way !

    South Coast Eastney

Haha I could have! It did look like hard work though! Furiously running up and down the beach unhooking a million whiting 😂 I’d rather sit down with a cup of tea listening to the radio!

    South Coast Eastney

The blocks have been throwing up some nice congers lately. Most of the sport to the west of south parade pier are unfishable at the moment as there is a massive anoint of sea defence work going on. There maybe some good rocky marks when they have finished though!

    South Coast Eastney

Finally managed to get out down eastney Portsmouth. Unfortunately I didn’t realise the southern league were having a match and when they started turning up they didn’t give me much space! I managed to get an hour in before the match started but it was just whiting and dog fish which normally...

    Casting lessons

In the video he agrees with you (13:30ish) about the dangers, which is why in the first part of the “tutorial” he teaches a variation of the cast which is a safer style where the compression of the rod travels at a different angle.

Yes 1:1 tuition is the gold standard. Online resources did help give me an insight into what I am trying to achieve. for me knowing the whys is as imports as the hows. Horses for courses etc

Review Over complicated tackle? Or must have tech?

Yep totally agree with that mate. I do generally plan it around the tides and mainly do night time sessions. Or like in a few weeks I’ll head out day time on the hunt for plaice if the conditions suit. Is is where the forum is great, I can pick your brains and get some good advice rather than...

Review Over complicated tackle? Or must have tech?

Yep agreed. I’m only changing the bead because the previous type failed. Although I spoke to a mate of a mate who knows a Ray and apparently he said they do actually prefer the Gemini type so fingers crossed 🤞

Review Over complicated tackle? Or must have tech?

I hardly ever fish rough ground but I just use them for their ease of clipping down and to fish the bait a good distance from the lead but I’ll be giving the up and over a go this weekend, will report back with how I get on.

Review Over complicated tackle? Or must have tech?

11lb small eyed would be nice ! Yes the pulley rigs are just a good easy rig to make at the end of the day as long as the hook is sharp and the bait is well presented on it there’s the chance of catching. Unfortunately I do love a bit of tech! So It’s definitely in my nature to fiddle and change...
